ARM
TATTOO

arm tattoos: For beginners and collectors.

When you have a arm tattoo get it done, you share your tattoo with the world. Tattoos on the thighs, back or chest you can easily hide. And as visible tattoos at your workplace are not allowed, you can still get your back tattooed.

But it's still easier to walk around with bare arms: a t-shirt, a shirt with sleeves rolled up, a summer dress....

Are you ready for an arm tattoo?

Does an arm tattoo hurt?

The arm is a beautiful canvas for a tattoo. Quasi all styles are possible.
For more info on all tattoo styles, please take a look at our styles pages.

Many put their very first tattoo on the arm, because this spot would be less painful.

Pain is, of course, subjective. In general, tattoos on the arm hurt less, but some places (like the inside of your elbow, the elbow itself, the inside of your wrist...) are still more sensitive.

Think carefully about the placement of your tattoo and listen to your tattoo artist.
If you want more tattoos later, it is not smart to put a small tattoo on the middle of your upper arm. That small tattoo will then have to be incorporated into a larger design. Chances are you will lose the tattoo because of a cover-up.

If you are sure you only want a small tattoo, you can put it wherever you want.
The choice is ultimately yours: do you want a small tattoo or a (half) sleeve? Pain remains subjective, so don't be put off by horror stories if you want a sleeve.

Arm Tattoo Designs & Ideas

There are an awful lot of tattoo styles that you can have placed on an arm.

Be sure to do your research before getting a tattoo: what style appeals to you? Do you want a tattoo in Maori style, or just a micro-realist tattoo? Do you like old school or new school? Do you want a cheerful or just a macabre design?

And it doesn't end there: do you want a tattoo in color or black 'n gray? Are you planning to extend that tattoo to a (half) sleeve or not?

Gather ideas, find out what topics you like, create a Pinterest board with your favorite tattoos, but certainly don't go overnight

All tattoo artists can be found on social media, including Inksane. Our regular and guest artists have a Facebook or Instagram page. Be sure to take a look, and you might find the perfect artist.
